~ Deelightful Max ~
Max is our resident "been there, done that" horse at WM Ranch.
We wanted something to ride and enjoy and decided on Max since he is out of one of our favorite "Greasebar" mares, Lady Dorothy Bar (by Miss Angie Reed). Most of
our horses are off to new homes before they get to riding age, so we marked Max as a "keeper" and started turning down
offers. We had no idea how far this super gelding could go, or how much fun he would be.
|
Max started out as a project for Wayne to show a bit and have some fun with. So far he has earned
ABRA ROM’s in reining, trail, English pleasure, hunter hack and western pleasure. He has also done very well at halter,
bring home several grand and reserve halter titles. Max also has points in dun factor, and western riding. Max is currently one halter
point away from his ABRA Championship.
2003 was a big year for Max and Wayne. In June, at the Western States American Buckskin Congress, Max won the "Senior All Around Horse" title, as well as several circuit titles.
|
In July WM Ranch packed up Max, and two other "Dee Lightful Lovin" kids and headed to their debut at the ABRA World Championship show.
With the help of Tim Phillip and hard working "go to girl" Calla Renfro the WM Ranch team stood well in World Show competition. The team brought home a total of four Reserve World Championship titles.
Max standing proud with a Reserve World Championship in Hunter Hack, a 3rd in English Pleasure
and a 4th in Western Riding.

Between trips to the winners circle Max has another important job. He works
around the ranch and as an ambassador for our breeding program.
When friends come to the ranch to visit, Max does the entertaining by giving our guests a pleasant time in the saddle.
One ride and people are hooked. Two rides and they want one of their own. Three rides and we have to wonder if they will ever go home!.

~Dee Lovin Dee Light ~
This is a handsome dun gelding we are very proud of. He was bred by Kathy Aman out
of her pretty grulla mare, "Brothers Melo Dee".
"Dee Lovin Dee Light" is a sweepstakes winner
in hunter under saddle. "Dee Lovin Dee Light" is an ABRA Champion who has become an outstanding Amateur and youth horse.
His versatility has been proven in the arena, with ABRA ROM's in halter,
western pleasure, trail, and english pleasure. He has also earned points in dun
factor, hunter hack, and keyhole.
|
In the Amateur divison he teamed with Kathy Aman,
and earned ABRA ROM's in Amateur Geldings at Halter, showmanship, and western pleasure.
"Dee Lovin Dee Light" is now a youth horse and really enjoys having a young lady of
his very own to love.
~ Deelightful Maxine ~
Deelightful Maxine is a very special little mare. She is kind, willing and very nice to be around.
After watching Wayne have such a good time showing Max, Nadine decided to get in on the fun, and she started showing Maxine.
(She did let Wayne in the saddle for reining and trail).
Maxine is the second and last foal of "Lady Dorothy Bar", by "Greasebar" and out of "Miss Angie Reed". With "Dee Lightful Lovin's" cool and calm on top, and the "get up
go" of "Greasebar" on the bottom, these horses have a lot to offer, and give it willingly.

Maxine earned her ABRA ROM in halter as a three year old, bringing home several grand champion at halter titles along the way.
In her three year old year, Maxine earned points in trail and western pleasure.
Maxine also earned her keep as a teacher. With Wayne on the rail and a student in the saddle, Maxine
went about the business of teaching. It was great to “see the light go on” as the rider "gets the feel" of a smooth flying change,
a ground digging sliding stop or the fancy foot work of a hard spin.
Maxine now has a new home in Oregon. We wish her all the best with her new family, and await updates on her
achievements. She will always have a place in our hearts, and we wish her new family the same kind of
wonderful experiences as Maxine shared with us.

Utah.

~ Reed A Love Story ~
A daughter of “Dee Lighful Lovin" out of "Brianna Reed"
From: Sandy Sirbru-Ince, San Diego, California
I bred (AI) my mare to Tino several times, but she
didn't take. Apparently, at 24, she was just too old.
Nadine suggested I purchase a Tino filly instead, and
sent me some photos of weanlings she thought I might
like.
I talked with references and they all had great
things to say about Tino's babies. Trusting Nadine,
the photos, and what others had to say, I decided to
take a chance and picked Reed A Love Story - "Daisy".
|
My husband and I hooked up the trailer and drove to
the WM Ranch from San Diego. I admit it was a bit
scary buying a horse "sight unseen", but Daisy is
everything Nadine said she would be. She's sweet, easy to work with, and is pretty! Everyone loves her.
She's earned her ABRA Halter ROM and was the Reserve
Champion Two Year Old Mare in an Open Halter Futurity.
Daisy is currently in training and I'm looking
forward to showing her in pleasure classes next year.
